- Over 52% of women use vibrators or intimate massagers.
- Those vibrator users were significantly more likely to have had a gynecologic exam during the past year and to have performed self-examination in the previous month. (i.e. vibrator users know more about their parts)
- Recent vibrator users scored higher on most sexual function domains (desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, pain, overall function) than those who did not use vibrators.
- More married women (about 50%) than single women (about 25%) use vibrators.
- Women who did not identify as religious were less likely to use a vibrator than women who were religious.
- Most vibrator use is for clitoral stimulation (83%)
- Of vibrator use for women, more than a third use them during intercourse or foreplay.
- Education level does not seem to affect whether a woman’s vibrator use.
